What's the Meaning Behind the Lyrics?

It seems like in today's society, rappers mainly write songs about getting money and getting "bitches and hoes." It's almost like they always have something to brag about whether it's luxurious or materialistic things or drugs or women. Many songs today don't seem to have an actual meaning like songs used to before. Their lyrics are just made to go with the beat and sometimes those lyrics do not even make any sense. For example, the song Money Longer by Lil Uzi Vert explains everything I just mentioned. Listen to it:

As you just heard in the song, Lil Uzi Vert seems to have a lot of things to brag about. He turned into a savage, his pockets got fatter, his girl calls him daddy, his haters got sadder, his money got longer, and his car got faster. What else does he have to brag about?!

[Hook]
Yah, it do not matter
Turned to a savage, pocket got fatter, she call me daddy
Smokin' that gas, gone off that Xanny, she on the powder

Nowadays I am on, my haters got sadder
Money got longer, speaker got louder, car got faster
Turned to a savage, pocket got fatter, she call me daddy
Smokin' that gas, gone off that Xanny, she on the powder

Nowadays I am on, my haters got sadder
Money got longer, speaker got louder, car got faster

Just in this hook alone, Lil Uzi has a sense of manliness when he says "she call me daddy."(machismo) This implies that he is dominant, strong, masculine, and the "boss."

Lil Uzi also says his money got longer and his pockets got fatter, which means that he has more money now than he did before.(rags to riches)

[Verse 1]
Money so old that it's spoiled
Yah, my lil' bitch so spoiled
Yah, I rub her down in oil
Yah, I got money, now you know it, yah

Diamonds on my teeth
Yeah, your shit look like foil

Yeah, Chris Brown said these hoes ain't loyal
None of these hoes got no morals

All my niggas G'ed up
Yeah, my glasses be Dita

Never thought it would be days I could kick my feet up

Never though that she would need me that much if I leave her

In this verse Lil Uzi talks about his bitch being so spoiled and that he takes care of her by doing things for her like rubbing her down in oil... But in the same verse he says "none of these hoes got no morals" and that he agrees with Chris Brown by saying "these hoes ain't loyal" so he just contradicted what he said first, am I right?

Imagine if rappers wrote songs about how they became successful, being healthy, not doing drugs, staying out of trouble, being hard working, being loyal to one woman, marrying the girl of his dreams, starting a family, and being grateful and thankful for everything they have now. Those lyrics could be with the catchy beats that everyone seems to love but would the songs actually be that popular? Probably not. People today think that doing drugs and having hoes is normal.

In this song, Lil Uzi Vert says he's smokin' that gas and he's gone off that Xanny... But how is this relevant? Who really cares if he does that? It's actually kinda funny how people wouldn't typically take Xanax and they'd think it's crazy to do so but since Uzi says it, they just love singing it. Another thing is that he compares himself to someone else. He says "Diamonds on my teeth yeah your shit look like foil." Is he saying that just because since his diamonds look better than his, he's better than the other guy? This line just proves that he is just looking for words and lyrics to put into his song, yet they have little to no meaning.

Today's society makes it seem okay for guys to refer to girls as "hoes" and "bitches" and disrespect them. But what makes them any different or any better than these "hoes" and "bitches"? They belittle and treat women that way because they feel like women are gold diggers and go after their money and success, but women feel like all guys want is their bodies and sex.....so why do men think that they are more superior than women?

Don't get me wrong, I like Lil Uzi's songs but nowadays, people don't seem to really care about the lyrics and the meaning behind the songs they listen to; they care more about the beat, the rhythm, and how catchy the song can be. Rappers write about drugs, smoking, getting drunk, things that are illegal, getting hoes, getting money, and brag about everything they have and people typically only listen to their music or enjoy it because of how catchy the song is. Many people learn lyrics to a song and not even know the meaning behind it all because the beat and song sounds good and interesting.
